Maximum points for an essay

When assessing literacy (K7 – K10), the volume of the essay should be taken into account. The grading norms shown in the table are designed for an essay with a volume of 150-300 words. If the essay contains less than 70 words, then such work is not counted and is estimated at 0 points, the task is considered not completed.

When counting words, both independent and service parts of speech are taken into account. Any sequence of words written without a space is counted (for example, "all the same" - one word, "all the same" - two words). Initials with a surname are considered one word (for example, "M.Yu. Lermontov" - one word). Any other characters, in particular numbers, are not taken into account in the calculation (for example, "5 years" - one word, "five years" - two words).
If the essay contains partially or completely rewritten by the examinee the text of the review of task 24 and / or information about the author of the text, then the volume of such work is determined without taking into account the text of the review and / or information about the author of the text.

When evaluating an essay with a volume of 70 to 150 words, the number of permissible errors of four types (K7 – K10) decreases.

2 points for these criteria are given in the following cases:
K7 - there are no spelling mistakes (or one blunder was made);
K8 - there are no punctuation errors (or one minor mistake was made).

1 point for these criteria is given in the following cases:
K7 - no more than two mistakes were made;
К8 - one or three mistakes were made;
K9 - no grammatical errors;
K10 - no more than one speech error was made.

The highest score according to the K7 – K12 criteria for work from 70 to 150 words is not given.

If the essay is a retold or completely rewritten source text without any comments, then such work on all aspects of verification (K1K12) is estimated at 0 points. If the work, which is a rewritten or retold source text, contains fragments of the examinee's text, then only the number of words that belongs to the examinee is taken into account in the check. A work written without reference to the text read (not according to this text) is not evaluated.

In accordance with the Procedure for conducting state final certification for educational programs of secondary general education (order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia dated December 26, 2013 No. 1400, registered by the Ministry of Justice of Russia No. 31205 on February 03, 2014) “61. According to the results of the first and second checks, the experts independently assign points for each answer to the tasks of the exam paper of the USE with a detailed answer ... 62. In case of a significant discrepancy in the points given by two experts, a third check is assigned. A significant difference in scores was determined in the assessment criteria for the corresponding academic subject. The expert carrying out the third check is provided with information about the points given by the experts who previously checked the examination paper. "
A significant discrepancy is considered to be a discrepancy of 8 or more primary points between the sums of points given by the first and second experts for completing task 25 (for all 12 assessment positions). In this case, the third expert must give points only for those assessment positions for which the points given by the first and second experts differ.

How are the results of the exam

The USE results are assessed on a 100-point scale and are presented in a special "Certificate of the results of the unified state exam."

When assessing the results of the USE, the minimum number of test points for each educational subject is established, confirming the mastering by the graduate of the main general educational programs of secondary (complete) education in accordance with the requirements of the federal educational standard of secondary (complete) general education. If a student scored less than the established minimum number of points (did not overcome the minimum threshold), then the exam is considered not passed.

The value of the minimum threshold is announced within 6-8 days after the USE in the subject in the main terms and 2-3 days after the USE in additional terms in July.

Unified State Exam Assessment Scale

When you complete tasks on the exam, for each correct decision, 1 or more points are awarded, depending on the difficulty. In this case, the correctly completed task of part A or B is estimated at 1 point, part C - up to 4 points. The sum of these points is called the “Primary Score” (PB). In fact, this is the number of correctly completed tasks.

    The number of minimum PB for different subjects may differ, for example:
  • math: 36 PB,
  • biology: 36 PB,
  • foreign languages: 22 PB.

But these are not the points that will be useful to you, for example, for admission to a university. They need to be translated on a 100-point scale. This is the so-called "test score" (TB).

TB assesses the student's level of preparedness. It depends on the level of complexity of the tasks performed on the exam. The final score is determined by this score. The maximum test score on the exam in any subject: 100 points.

The primary score is converted to a test score according to a special formula.

How the Unified State Exam affects obtaining a certificate

The basis for the issuance of a secondary education certificate to a graduate is satisfactory USE results, that is, the number of points is not lower than the minimum threshold in compulsory subjects (Russian and mathematics). In this case, the graduate receives 2 documents: a school certificate and a certificate of the USE results.

In the certificate, the final marks are set according to the traditional 5-point system, which are defined as the arithmetic average of the graduate's annual marks for grades 10-11 (12).

The results of the exam do not affect the final marks set in the certificate.

If a graduate has not passed the minimum threshold in one of the subjects - Russian language or mathematics - on the Unified State Exam in the main terms and upon retaking, then he will not be issued a certificate.

How and when you can find out the results of the exam

The USE results must be known to the participants no later than 3 working days after Rosobrnadzor announces the minimum thresholds for each of the subjects. Thus, no more than 12 days pass from the date of the exam. Most regions inform their USE participants earlier.

USE participants - current year graduates are issued certificates of USE results at an educational institution. The rest of the USE participants will find out their results where they received a pass to the USE: this is either the PPE in which they took the exam, or the education management body of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation, local education authorities.

According to the current regulations, each constituent entity of the Russian Federation is independently responsible for informing USE participants about the results. In some regions, this information is available on the Internet for free. You can find out your results with an individual code (passport number, etc.).

  • Moscow and Moscow region: www.rcoi.net
  • St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region: ege.spb.ru

Lists of USE participants with their exam results are posted on information boards (at school, EGE, educational administration, etc.).

Validity of the certificate of the results of the exam

On November 20, 2013, a letter No. DL-345/17 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation “On the effect of the USE results” was published.

"The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia on the validity of the results of the unified state exam received before the entry into force from September 1, 2013 of the Federal Law of December 29, 2012 No. 273-FZ" On Education in the Russian Federation "(hereinafter - the Federal Law), informs ...

According to part 2 of article 70 of the Federal Law, the results of the unified state examination for admission to training in undergraduate and specialist programs valid for four yearsfollowing the year of obtaining such results.

Consequently, admission to organizations that carry out educational activities for undergraduate and specialty programs is allowed based on the results of a unified state exam, confirmed by certificates of the Unified State Exam issued in 2015 and 2016, and valid until the end of 2019 and 2020, respectively.

The USE certificate after September 1, 2020 is valid for four years following the year of passing the exam. That is, the 2018 certificate expires in December 2022 and can be used for admission to universities in the period from 2018 to 2022. Consequently, certificates issued in 2019 and 2020 are valid through 2023 and 2024, respectively.

Future graduates, not to mention their worried parents, follow all the changes that the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation generously shower every year with the Unified State Exam. Schoolchildren naturally think about the difficult but eternal question - who to become? - and, for the most part, they already know the direction in which they will step on the path to the desired profession.

This is extremely important, because by focusing on specialized subjects (future doctors should focus on chemistry and biology, dreaming of becoming translators - into a foreign language, etc.), boys and girls will be able to get a higher overall score.

When passing the exam, a special place is given to the threshold of knowledge in the points of the Unified State Exam. It is on the basis of overcoming the minimum score that the USE certificate is issued. We can say that these are USE scores in compulsory subjects that correspond to the mark "satisfactory".

If the student receives a score less than the threshold in subjects to choose from, nothing is added to the certificate. At the moment, every future graduate is interested in minimum USE scores 2017 in all subjects.

Some changes in the Unified State Exam in 2017

Changes in the holding and the USE 2017 itself are almost the most pressing topic for many. Every year, eleventh grade graduates are expected to receive news about some innovations, innovations and corrections of the USE, sometimes not in a positive way.

So, in 2017, a third will be added to the two required exams. In addition to mathematics and Russian, eleventh graders will need to pass one more compulsory exam. So far, there is no final decision on what the subject will be chosen for passing on the exam, however, according to unconfirmed reports, it is most likely that it will be history.

According to education officials, and due to the fact that it is in this discipline that students show low knowledge, making history compulsory for delivery would be the best option. Students are expected to take on the basics of this science more firmly.

In addition, even the form of the history exam (if this subject is included in the list of mandatory for the annual assessment of the knowledge of graduates) will be changed: the oral part will become much larger, while the test part of the exam is planned to be significantly reduced.

An oral block will be added to the Russian language exam. This is done to test the communication skills of graduates. Also, changes will affect essays - if earlier a student could get a "pass" or "no pass" for a written essay, then when passing the exam in the Russian language in 2017, they plan to give grades for the final essay.

Provided that history becomes the third compulsory subject, students will be offered the following disciplines to choose from, and they will only need to choose one:

  • Informatics;
  • Chemistry;
  • Physics;
  • Geography;
  • Biology;
  • Social science;
  • Literature;
  • Foreign language (English, Spanish, German or French).

Minimum passing USE scores in 2017

Upon admission to a university, all high school graduates are required to submit to the admissions committee, in addition to the certificate, also a certificate with the results of the exam. According to the latest data, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation does not intend to change the threshold scores for the Unified State Exam.

The minimum scores of the Unified State Exam in all disciplines in 2017 were formed as follows:

  • Russian language - 24 points;
  • Mathematics, profile level - 27 points (this result is accepted in universities);
  • Basic level mathematics - 3 points (this result gives the right to receive a certificate, but is not accepted in universities);
  • Physics - 36 points;
  • Social studies - 42 points;
  • Biology - 36 points;
  • Geography - 37 points;
  • Chemistry - 36 points;
  • Informatics - 40 points;
  • Foreign language - 22 points;
  • Literature - 32 points.

It is gratifying that the results that a graduate will receive on the exam can be used within three years.

Upon admission, an applicant can be added an additional 10 points for an excellent certificate, special academic achievements (scientific competitions, Olympiads, etc.), as well as for high achievements in the field of sports.

It may be interesting for graduates to get acquainted with the statistics of the passing USE scores in all disciplines over the past years.
