What perks to download for super pershing. Heavy tank T26E1 Super Pershing. Dilemma: farm on BB or bend on BP

Army gunsmiths engineers were interested in sending new tank into battle, in the hope that he will fight the Royal Tiger. Having already lost several new M26 from the German anti-tank guns with a high muzzle velocity, we knew that his armor was still inferior to that of the Tiger. My job was to design and install additional armor on a new tank.

In a well-equipped German repair shop, there were several large pieces of boiler sheets, one and a half inches thick. We decided to use a laminating scheme for glacis. We cut two pieces from the boiler plate and connected it in a V shape to fit on the V-shape formed by the glacis and the lower front plate. The upper frontal plate of the hull had an inclination of 38 degrees from the horizontal, which gave 52 degrees from the vertical and was considered a sufficient angle to induce a ricochet. This provided zero clearance at the top and about 3 inches below the seam where the bottom sheet joined.

In the same way, we cut off the second boiler sheet and positioned it at a 39 degree angle above the first sheet. Where it connected to the bottom sheet, there was a gap of 7 to 8 inches under it. As a result, we got 4 inches of cast armor on the glacis tank and two boiler plates one and a half inches thick with a space between them. We decided that although the boiler sheet was softer, the lamination and reduced angle of the armor would favor the ricochet of the German shells. The new armor added about 5 tons of weight to the front of the tank. The ruler measured how far the front torsion bar suspension sags.

We then cut out a section from the front plate of the padded German Panther and resized it to be three and a half inches thick *, 5 feet long, and two feet wide. A large hole was cut in the middle for a gun barrel and two small holes on the sides for a coaxial machine gun and a telescopic sight. We put this plate on the barrel, moving it up to the mask itself, and welded it tightly around the entire circumference. This plate, weighing fourteen hundred pounds, shifted the center of gravity 14 inches forward from the axle of the trunnions, making the gun barrel heavier towards the front.

The Super M26 Pershing already had balancer springs on top attached to the turret and the original mask, which we assumed would compensate for the longer barrel length of the gun. However, the weight added by us exceeded the force of the balancer springs, and the cannon barrel tilted down in front. The mechanical gearbox inside the turret used to raise and lower the barrel was insufficient for such a weight.

To compensate for this, we took two pieces of a 1.5-inch boiler plate and cut out some ridiculous-looking counterweights that were about three and a half feet long - at one end they were about two feet wide for the first 18 inches and then expanded to about two feet over the next 24 inches. We welded the narrow edges on the sides of the mask, made of Panther armor, so that they went back horizontally and widened, protruding slightly beyond the tower. Thus, the heavy part was behind the trunnions, creating a counterweight effect. These counterweights helped, although it was still difficult for the gunner to steer the barrel upward with the mechanical vertical-aiming drive.
It was clear that more weight should be added to these counterweights, but the question was how and where. From my limited knowledge of theoretical mechanics, I knew that this would require a lot of calculations, information and time, which we did not have. [...]

We decided to apply the empirical method. They took several one-foot-and-a-half slabs, one foot wide and two feet long, and clamped them to the back of the large counterweights. By moving this weight back and forth through trial and error, we finally found a balance point where the implement could easily be raised and lowered by hand. Then we welded the plates into place.

With the gun turned forward, the tank looked like an angry elephant rushing ahead. The long trunk stuck out like a trunk; large, distinctively shaped counterweights looked like ears; and the holes in the mask for the telescopic sight and machine gun resembled eyes. We hoped he would make the same impression on the Germans.

The turret had already been modified at the rear with large counterweights to compensate for the long gun. For the same purpose, we added more weight. However, when the tank was on a slope, it was difficult to turn the gun even with a power drive. This problem was noticed even on the German Panther. If it was on a steep slope, and the gun was turned down, then the German gunner took a long time to turn the turret directly with the help of the manual pivot mechanism.

We have now added 7 tons to the tank. The ground clearance was checked again and found that the support wheels had sagged another two inches. This caused the rear of the tank to protrude upward like an excited wild drake. Despite its ridiculous looks and the fact that we probably slowed down by almost 5 mph, the tank with its 550 horsepower engine still had enough power.

Then we tested the driving performance and drove to the edge of the ravine for test shooting. Looking around for a suitable target, they finally found a knocked out German assault gun Jagdpanzer IV, which was destroyed by a single hit on the side and did not burn. We hooked him up to one of our tow hooks and pulled him to the other side of the ravine, to the very bottom, about 50 feet below the ridge. The Jagdpanzer was placed with its forehead towards us. The distance to the target is about one and a half miles.

The ammunition for the 90mm T15E1 cannon was the standard 90mm round, only the sleeve is longer to accommodate more powder charge. First, we used two people to load the projectile into the barrel. However, with a little exercise, one person could do it, albeit with some difficulty. It was normal for an experimental tank to have certain problems.

Major Dick Johnson sent for the crew for this tank to the 33rd Panzer Regiment. We introduced them to the instructions, while teaching ourselves. The sergeant in charge of artillery armament and firing had previously adjusted the gun and we were ready to fire. I made sure everyone was standing behind the sides and behind the tank so that the flash from the shot would not hit anyone.

Everyone who stood behind the M4 Sherman could see how the projectile took off and, describing a small arc, rushed to the target. This new gun with a high muzzle velocity was completely different from what we are used to. At the first shot, they barely saw the projectile. It seemed that he went up slightly, although in fact he hit the target. It was an optical illusion, but the effect was amazing. When it hit the target, sparks shot up into the air 60 feet, as if a giant grinding wheel had struck metal.

Looking at the target, I was dumbfounded. The 90mm shell penetrated four inches of armor, went through the five-inch differential shaft, the fighting compartment, the rear wall of the fighting compartment, pierced the four and a half inch Maybach engine crankshaft, the inch aft armor, and buried so deep in the ground that they could not find it. Although our gunsmithing officers from Aberdeen told us that a tank cannon could penetrate thirteen inches of armor from a hundred yards, it was still hard to believe in such monstrous power. We all realized that we now have a weapon capable of breaking even the most powerful German Mark VI Tiger.

We instructed the new crew on how to handle the gun and gave everyone a shot. We explained that the new ammo is longer and heavier to load, and the extra armor makes it difficult to change gears, but with a little getting used to, they can handle it all. Although the tank had additional armor, they shouldn't be stupidly substituted. The challenge was to enter the battle under the most favorable conditions and see what the tank could do against the German armor.

The crew was so happy to receive this tank that people were ready to endure any inconvenience. I'm sure they felt that the tank, probably the most powerful of the American, German or Soviet, increased their chances of survival.

I told Major Johnson that his crew should be very familiar with the tank, in particular with the final drive, tracks and engine, as the additional seven tons can cause certain difficulties in service. Despite this, I felt that the tank would do its job.

* To be precise, the Panther's front plate was not 3.5 inches (88.9 cm), but 3.1496063 inches (80 mm). Belton Cooper rounded up the figure using American system measurements, which gave an error.

This article is an author's review of the American Tier VIII Premium Medium Tank. T26E4 SuperPershing... Normally, the price of this tank is 7200, but as part of the May promotion, all players have a chance to get it for free. And if you have opened this article, then you are probably asking the question: "Is it worth the candle?" To make the right decision, we must carefully and objectively examine the tank itself.

Background

After its appearance in the 7.5 update, SuperPershing (hereinafter SP) quickly conquered the niche of the "budget farm horse". Its low price by the standards of Tier VIII premium vehicles, its ease of use and excellent silver earnings have made it very popular. However, in the 8.8 update, the car was redesigned to bring it to historical correspondence. The main change was the change in the angles of inclination of the frontal armor of the hull, due to which the protection of the tank suffered. To compensate, the dynamics and some other characteristics have been slightly improved. At the same time, the developers made an unprecedented offer: SP owners, who were not satisfied with these changes, received the right to sell the tank for the full price in gold without any losses. Many players then went for it and sold the American. These events had a bad effect on the tank's reputation and since then it has faded into the background, and the SU-122-44 and E-25 tank destroyers have taken the place of the "budget premium". Whether it is deserved or not, let's try to figure it out further.

General description of the tank

According to its characteristics, the SuperPershing is a light-heavy-welterweight tank:

  • Armor very specific. The forehead of the hull and turret is protected by additional armor plates that can withstand hits from cannons with a penetration of up to 200 mm. And this is a very significant part of the opponents at the level. The sides of the tank and areas not protected by additional armor (for example, the area above the mask) are much easier to break through. Therefore, in no case should the enemy be allowed to target your vulnerable spots. You should hold it at a long and medium distance, do not allow yourself to be surrounded, use cover, move the turret and hull during reloading.
  • Cannon Excellent penetration by sub-caliber ammunition (258) with a good rate of fire (7.32) and average accuracy (0.38) make this tank a real monster when playing on gold. The vertical aiming angles are comfortable, but it is not recommended to constantly keep the tower under enemy fire, since this is where most of the vulnerable zones are located.
  • Mobility unimportant, at the level of a heavy tank. The tank moves well on solid ground - it holds 30 km / h, but on off-road it quickly loses speed. Nevertheless, the SP cannot be called quite slow-moving. It will not be able to be the first to occupy the mountain on the Rudniki or "trousers" in Karelia, but he is quite capable of bypassing an enemy tied by battle or spinning some ISU.
  • Overview- 390 meters, a very good indicator at the level. When installing a stereo tube or optics, you can earn extra money with passive light against rivals of the 9th level. This is also possible thanks to the good disguise tank.
  • Margin of safety very impressive. This indicator is equal or close to the class of heavy tanks.
  • Preferential level of battles means that you will not get to the tanks of the 10th level. This is a very big plus. Another thing is that even with 9 levels it is sometimes not sweet. For cars like the E-75, Jagdtiger, Object 704 and some others, SuperPershing is a light frag. Although, from the experience of playing at 704, I can say that the BL-10 shells tend to get stuck in the SP armor at the most inopportune moment.

Not obvious, but true

  • Per last months there have been many changes in the game. First, the mechanics of HEAT and APCR shells have been reworked, which theoretically increased the effectiveness of SuperPershing armor. Secondly, the mechanics of the spread of fire have changed - on the one hand, it has become easier for us to target the vulnerable spots of enemies with our cannon with weak penetration, on the other hand, experienced enemies will more easily hit our pain points. Thirdly, the number of SPGs has decreased significantly, especially in Tier 8 battles. In such conditions, it became easier to play on SP.
  • The tank is fire hazardous. Swapping a fire extinguisher for gasoline or cola is tempting but risky.
  • Armor-piercing shells are very cheap. SP farms well even with moderate gold shots.
  • The optimal crew of 5 people creates ideal conditions for using the tank as a trainer for US ST tankers.

Equipment

The standard equipment for a medium tank is recommended. Bunch Rammer + Stabilizer is unchanged, while the third slot remains the player's choice. Those who believe in benefit Improved ventilation and Combat brotherhood(BB) put them on. Those who play from the review choose Enlightened optics... Personally, I usually use optics, and only after fully learning the third skill by the crew, I retrain them on BB, and replace the optics with a valve.

  • Choose your direction of travel wisely. You shouldn't go long roundabout paths, as you will lag behind the group, but you shouldn't dwell only on short routes - butting with heavy tanks head-on is not a good idea, especially if they have high alpha and armor penetration of guns. On the ST directions, on the contrary, you will have an advantage in armor and safety margin, and the lack of armor penetration will be barely noticeable. The main thing is to go not far, like a village in Ruinberg.
  • You should never rely on not being punched. This lesson is important to learn regardless of the tank you are playing. Whatever the armor and whatever the weapon, there is always a chance that you will get into the hatch "from the turntable" or the maximum value of the breakdown will drop out. This does not mean that you need to hide in the bushes or behind the backs of allies, you just should not rush and go to the enemy, which has already turned up and is waiting for you. Of course, situations are different, but in most cases such a risk is not justified.
  • Platooning will greatly increase your efficiency. For example, you can push through directions in a team with the IS-6 and / or KV-5, or vice versa "tank" for the allies on the FCM 50t and T-34-3.
  • Watch where the enemy is aiming and prevent him from targeting your vulnerable zones: "dance with your body" and move the tower. In such conditions, inexperienced players get lost and shoot anyhow.
  • Don't use the diamond against experienced opponents. Already somewhere at 30% turnover, SP begins to break into the sides.
  • Use sub-caliber ammunition wisely. Sometimes they help to drag the fight even in a hopeless situation. At the same time, they are not a panacea - in any case, try to shoot at vulnerable spots.

conclusions

The T26E4 SuperPershing is a specific vehicle. It is no longer as easy and comfortable to learn as it was before. Numerous disadvantages make the game difficult, but they are not critical and can be leveled by the correct tactics of use and the use of sub-caliber projectiles. It is known that many players "raise their statues" on SP, although loading at least half of the BC with "gold". There is already something closer to someone.

Personally, I think the SuperPershing is a distinctive machine, both in performance and design. If you collect unusual tanks, then you will probably want to get one. The same applies to fans of the USA branch, in which there are very few premium cars. high level... For the same players who consider SP as the first and main tank for farming, I would not recommend it. On the other hand, if there is an opportunity to get a premium Tier VIII tank absolutely for free, then why not. Moreover, getting SP is now much easier than the IS-6 for the New Year's promotion.

P.S. If you already have SuperPershing in your hangar, then when you complete a combat mission, you will receive full compensation in the amount of 7200.

The T26E4 Super Pershing is a Tier 8 US premium medium tank. An old-timer of World of Tanks with a preferential level of battles, now experiencing its rebirth. Like all tanks, it has its advantages and disadvantages, but one thing is for sure - it really deserves attention. Of course, every player who wants to buy it is interested in the question of farming silver and the quality of the gameplay, is it possible to "bend" on it? You will find answers to this and other questions about the life of the T26E4 after the upgrade in patch 1.2 below.

After several years of waiting, the developers condescended to the requests of many players and "up-dated" Super Pershing. Now the tank has played with new colors, has really changed. In order not to be unfounded, let's take a look at the characteristics of the tank.

Cannon

The main changes affected exactly firepower tank. The armor penetration of an AP shell has been increased from 192 to 202, which makes it more comfortable to feel in battles and more often to penetrate enemy armor. The reload time was also reduced from 8.2 to 8 seconds, the dispersion of the gun when moving and turning the turret was slightly reduced.

Firepower

Where to punch T26E4 SuperPershing

As with many tanks, first of all, the weak points are the small hatches on the turret, the stern and the machine-gun point on the VLD. Super Pershing also has personal weak spots:

  • tower cheeks, which are not covered with additional armor;
  • the joint between the hull and the tower;
  • front roller;

But after patch 1.2, the T26E4 received an increase in armor just at its weak points. Let's see what happened:

It wasHas become
Transition from the front of the tower to the sides of the tower (mm)76,2 101,6
Frontal part of the forehead of the tower above the mask (mm)101,6 127
"Step" on the roof of the tower101,6 127
Top of the commander's cupola76,2 114,3
The lower part of the commander's cupola76,2 88,9
The front of the tower roof25,4 41,3

Improved armor slightly leveled its weak points, which allows the tank to play more confidently while at the top of the list.

Advantages and disadvantages

The T26E4 Super Pershing is an American hybrid of a medium and heavy tank, with its ensuing advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages:

  1. Preferential level of battles, the tank does not get to the 10th levels.
  2. Armor penetration allows you to penetrate single-tier enemy vehicles with armor-piercing shells, and, if necessary, by charging sub-caliber shells, you can give a decent rebuff to tier 9 tanks.
  3. The low cost of AP shells and one-time damage of 240 HP allows this tank to farm, which is very important for a premium vehicle.
  4. Frontal booking. Due to the specificity of the given armor, the T26E4 standing like a diamond can punch out hits from guns with armor-piercing up to 200 mm. The main body armor, taking into account the slopes, is 152 mm in the VLD and 140 mm in the NLD.
  5. Excellent gun elevation angles allow you to play off the terrain.
  6. A high reserve of points of strength of 1500 units.
  7. Gives a bonus to the leveling of the crew.

Disadvantages:

  1. At long ranges, the weapon's mediocre accuracy is felt.
  2. Weak gun stabilization.
  3. The tank paid for good frontal booking with poor dynamics, low speed and poor ground penetration.
  4. The lack of maneuverability and impressive dimensions make the tank a tasty morsel for artillery.
  5. The sides and sterns are easy to break through.

Equipment for T26E4 SuperPershing

The equipment enhances the strengths of the tank or helps to reduce its weaknesses. Consider the optimal set of additional modules to increase combat effectiveness:

  • vertical mount stabilizer « must have»Module to improve the stabilization of the weapon;
  • rammer, because the rate of fire of the T26E4 is mediocre, so you need to pull up the average damage per minute;
  • coated optics will help to achieve maximum visibility;
  • ventilation is an alternative option instead of installing optics. In the presence of a well-trained crew with the learned Battle Brotherhood skill, the overall combat power of the tank will increase.

Crew training

The T26E4 Super Pershing is ideal for upgrading the crew of the US medium tank tree. The crew consists of 5 tankers, each performing only its own role (there are no mixed specialties). Taking into account the tank's performance characteristics, the following perks will be recommended for study:

1 2 3 4
CommanderSixth SenseRepairThe Brotherhood of WarEagle Eye
GunnerRepairSmooth tower rotationThe Brotherhood of WarSniper
Driver mechanicRepairSmooth runningThe Brotherhood of WarKing of the off-road
Radio operatorRepairRadio interceptionThe Brotherhood of WarInventor
ChargingRepairNon-contact ammo rackThe Brotherhood of WarDesperate

Considering the large size and poor dynamics of the tank, repairs are imperative. The second perk will help to improve the stabilization of the gun in motion, increase visibility and reduce the likelihood of ammo rack crit. Combat brotherhood will give a 5% bonus to all crew members, which, together with the ventilation module, will improve the tank's efficiency on the battlefield. The fourth perk can slightly increase the visibility and passability on the ground, or for fans of a safer game, an alternative option will be pumping disguise.

Equipment

A repair kit and a first aid kit are irreplaceable companions on every tank. The question remains open for the choice of equipment in the third slot.

Super Pershing has vulnerable sides and stern, just a few hits in the tanks are enough to set it on fire and therefore a fire extinguisher is necessary.

If you do not expose the sides and stern to the enemy, but play carefully, then you can put gasoline or Coca-Cola.

How to play the T26E4 SuperPershing

First of all, the player enters the battle using this technique to earn silver. It is from this position that we will analyze the tactics of playing on the T26E4. The best option would be the role of fire support on the second line. At medium range, the accuracy of the gun allows you to target weak areas of the enemy and inflict damage, but difficulties can arise with heavily armored tanks. Then the player has a choice: load an expensive sub-caliber projectile and try to penetrate the enemy, or change the target so as not to lose in silver after the battle.

UVN and a fairly strong tower make it possible to play using the terrain. Good visibility will help keep the enemy team in sight. During reloading, do not stand still, it will be more difficult for the enemy to aim and get into the hatches on the tower that are vulnerable on the move.

Despite the impressive frontal armor, you should not rush to go ahead unnecessarily. It is necessary to take into account the moment that the enemy can also charge gold shells and nullify all millimeters of your armor.

In battle, the tank's dynamics are poor. The low speed is caused not only by the heavier T26E4 due to the increased booking, but by the weak engine (which is why some players prefer gasoline in their equipment). It is necessary to follow the map, because the mobility of the tank will not allow, if necessary, to quickly return to the defense of the base. Also, do not forget about artillery, for it Super Pershing is always a tidbit, so it is better not to substitute yourself in open areas once again.

Brief summary

Having studied the technique thoroughly, using its strengths and taking into account the weaknesses, you can achieve good results in battle. Over time, you get used to the leisurely style of play on this tank. In the hands of an experienced player, the T26E4 Super Pershing will be a good farm and damage machine.
The tank is quite self-sufficient: it can illuminate itself, sometimes tank something, and by loading sub-caliber shells, disassemble any opponent.

Should you buy the T26E4 SuperPershing in 2019?

After the improvement of preferential vehicles in patch 1.2, the popularity returned to the tank and more and more often it can be found in the random house. The T26E4 Super Pershing is a representative of an endangered class, because for a long time the developers have not added equipment with a preferential level of battles to the game, but, on the contrary, are taken out of free access. Another important feature is its presence in the in-game store of the game client and the lowest cost among all premium tanks of level 8 - 7200 gold. T26E4 Super Pershing is definitely worth its money, it guarantees the owner a comfortable game and earning silver.

Video reviews T26E4 SuperPershing

- a tank with a difficult fate and a dubious reputation. Someone does not like him, someone considers him a machine for suffering, and someone at one time sold it for gold and crossed himself. But what is surprising is that this tank, although controversial, is very often found in the random. And a lot of players are asking about the advisability of purchasing this machine. This means that there is a demand for the joint venture, and, despite all its oddities, it attracts players with something.

SuperPershing's Fate Curve

Premium medium tank Tier VIII has a difficult fate in our game, in which there were ups and downs. This tank was rolled out for the supertest in the distant update 7.4.1 (summer 2012), in the update 7.5 it was finally set up and introduced for sale, and already in the update 8.6. (exactly one year after 7.4.1) the car was removed from the market. The reason for this is simple - the tank caused a sea of discontent among the players who bought it, and very often the question was raised about the uselessness of such a tank.

Moreover, many players demanded from WG to return the gold spent on the purchase of the joint venture. And in update 8.8, such an opportunity was provided - those who wanted to get rid of the unsuccessful car did it to their advantage. At the same time, the developers went for a trick - they simultaneously improved the tank's armor (as well as passability, visibility, accuracy and durability), which tried to draw attention to it, but the change was insignificant and had no result. And in the same update it was again put on sale.

Since then, the car has been sold again, but the flow of dissatisfaction with it, if it has decreased, then not by much. And in the latest update 9.8, it was converted to HD quality with a simultaneous reworking of armor protection. Undoubtedly, the tank has become more beautiful, but there was no dramatic improvement in its playing characteristics.

Such a tricky and difficult fate of the tank can be explained very simply - for this, it is enough to take a closer look at its parameters and features.

Firepower

The gun is perhaps the main disappointment of the tank. Judge for yourself - its penetration with the basic shell is only 171 mm, this is the worst result among premium Tier VIII medium tanks! For comparison, the penetration of the gun with the basic shell is as much as 212 mm.

However, the tool of the joint venture is at the same time its pride. True, too expensive, and therefore upsetting. The fact is that its sub-caliber projectiles have a penetration rate of 259 mm, which is more than enough to confidently inflict damage on the vast majority of enemies encountered. This may seem a little, but we need to remember that our patient has a preferential level of fights, and therefore he does not fall into the tens (although he can feel relatively confident there too).

Yes, we almost forgot: the 90 mm Gun T15E1 cannon is installed on the vehicle, which in its characteristics is very close to the top-end gun of a regular pumped Pershing. The cannon has an accuracy of 0.38 m / 100 m (for a line tank - 0.37), a targeting time of 2.3 seconds and a DPM of 1757 points (for a line tank, these characteristics are similar). At the same time, the gun has excellent (and typical for "Americans") elevation angles within -10 +20 degrees.

In general, this weapon is rather complicated and uncomfortable (with the exception of its depression angles), on BB it hesitantly penetrates even “classmates”, and on gold it negates all farming opportunities.

Dilemma: farm on BB or bend on BP

A bit of history

The history of the T26E4 began during World War II. With the appearance of the second generation German Tigers on the battlefield, American troops began to desperately need a new tank that could give a worthy rebuff to the new German vehicles. The Super Pershing developers planned to make it based on the standard M26 Pershing. The first experimental T26 was equipped with an electromechanical transmission.

The first version of the Super Pershing T26E1 was fitted with a T15E2 separate-loading gun and a new "Torquematic" transmission. Later it turned out that the gun was too long and the developers had to change the size and general form towers, with a counterweight at the rear and two spring balancers at the front.

In 1945, the command of the Amrikan troops decided to send new Persings to the front while equipping them with additional armor plates from German panthers destroyed in battle. This modification was named T26E4. It is in this form that the tank is presented to us in the game.

What you have to deal with

T26E4 Super Pershing Is a premium American medium tank located at the eighth level. Introduced in patch 0.7.5 at the end of July 2012 and immediately became popular with players for profitability and armored forehead. In the game, Super Pershing is a medium tank, but it is difficult to assign it to a specific class, as it is done in the game. It's more heavy than average, but let's take it in order.

Those wishing to purchase this tank will have to fork out for 7200 gold, which is approximately $ 29, I personally bought it with a discount on New Year for $ 25. Anyway, this is the most cheap premium tier eighth medium tank, which, however, is not much inferior to its premium counterparts in terms of tier, and even surpasses some in some way.

Super Pershing and its screens
In short, Super Pershing is an excellent frontal armor (almost impenetrable, except for a few small vulnerabilities), almost no armor on the side and back, medium cannon and terrible dynamics, but in contrast to these shortcomings, one should note very good profitability indicators, even without a premium account.

Specifications

Although the Super Pershing represents a middle class of tanks, it actually resembles a heavy tank. In fact, this is a heavy weapon with a weaker weapon, but with very strong frontal armor. The tank's durability is equal to 1450 units. In my opinion, quite enough for a medium tank with good front armor.

None of the dynamics of the tank is due to its weight of 50 tons, which is a lot for the st (medium tank), and considerable weight, in turn, is caused by the armor plates from the panther, which give the tank unsurpassed frontal armor, because of which the tank was nicknamed Super Pershing.

Forehead thickness at The T26E4 is 178mm. In fact, it can only be pierced by hitting a small machine-gun nest, the commander's hatch, difficult to access due to its size, or, under a successful coincidence for the enemy, under the tower. In practice, very often the owners of this tank do not even penetrate the 9th levels head-on.

At long and medium distances, you can hardly worry, penetration is possible only with great luck of the opponent, since it is very difficult to target vulnerable points at such distances. However, one awkward movement sideways or stern to the enemy will lead to disastrous results, since the armor of the sides is 76 mm, and the stern is 51 mm. Such weak armor leads to the penetration of the sides and stern from almost any weapon.

Also worth mentioning is the sensitivity of the engine - prone to critical damage and fire. It is true only if you expose the mentioned zones under attack. It should also be noted that the T26E4 Super Pershing is very painful with artillery fire, willingly missing damage. Together with low speed and dynamics, it becomes a direct road to the hangar.

That is why when choosing tactics for playing on this tank, it is better to stick to tactics for heavy tanks. Such as, a battle in the city between buildings, holding narrow directions where it is difficult to go around us, shooting from afar, supporting allies, both in the second row of the offensive, and slowly pushing the opponent's defense in the first rows due to an armored forehead, but with the obligatory support of allies from rear.

Continuing on the characteristics of the tank, I note a slightly slow turret rotation of 24 degrees per second. Good view for CT at 380 meters. For those who like to shoot on the Super Pershing from the bushes, the "eagle eye" perk and equipment for increasing the fixed view of the "stereo tube" are suitable. In the presence of a good radio station with a communication range of 750 meters.

What if you bought it

Having received this in the tank in hand, at first I was a little disappointed. 500 hp engine with. gave out 20 km / h in calm weather ... 30 km / h, if from a hill (or cliff). Therefore, the first thing in order to evaluate this unit objectively and start getting pleasure and farming from it, you need to bring it to mind, namely, put the right equipment and pump the crew.

The pluses of the unpowered Super Pershing can be attributed only to the reservation of the forehead and the dynamics of the turn in place at 32 degrees per second, despite its weak speed. Since the crew is the only link in the game through which you can improve the premium tank, I started with it.

By supplying the "fan" equipment,

as well as speeding up mixing and reloading by installing "aiming drives"

And the "rammer".

My version, of course, is not super true, for example, if you want to play in the style of an anti-tank gun shooting motionlessly from the bushes, then instead of the last two types of equipment, you can install the above-mentioned "stereoscopic tube", popularly called "horns" and camouflage net to avoid detection and punishment by artillery.

Then the first thing I did was pump it over ... no, not repair. The fact is that if you stand with your forehead to your opponent, then the knocked down caterpillar does not make much of the weather, unless of course you are under artillery, and if you are bypassed, then it does not matter where your caterpillars are. Therefore, I continued to improve the crew's capabilities, first of all, by pumping the "Combat Brotherhood" perk.

After that, in the second place, the "sixth sense" or "light bulb" is pumped for the commander (its usefulness is difficult to overestimate),

and all the rest - renovation.

Even though I didn’t start to download it in the first place, it doesn’t mean that this skill is not needed. A downed caterpillar is unpleasant and leads to the hangar, but in this case the dynamics and general aura of the tank can enrage you more.

With the third skill, we add "repair" to the commander, and to the rest of the comrades, according to your taste, something from special skills. For example, the driver can be pumped "the king of off-road" to once again improve the speed when passing viscous soils or "cleanliness and order" to reduce the likelihood of a fire hazardous engine igniting. These skills already depend on your playing style and you will immediately understand what you need.

Having pumped the first two skills in the sequence I proposed, we get an interesting tank with a gun reloading time in 6.77 seconds, like the top gun of the Soviet T54 medium tank. Cheerful, as for a heavy tank, speed gain up to 30-35 km / h, faster mixing and generally more enjoyable game.

The average damage of the gun is 240 HP, which is not bad in combination with the aforementioned modifications. An average penetration of 170 mm, which will often lead to non-penetration, but APCR shells can also penetrate 258 mm of armor (if possible, they should be carried with you).

The profitability of the tank is decent. Without a premium account, on average, about 35 thousand silver per battle, however, all the charm can be felt only on premium - in rare cases, more than 80 thousand silver can be taken out per battle. This allows you to install the appropriate consumables. In addition to the standard repair kit and a fire extinguisher, if desired, you can use high-octane gasoline, which will further accelerate the tank.

Diagnosis (conclusion)

The cheapest premium tank of the eighth level will delight those who are used to playing on heavy tanks. For those who like dynamic combat, it will not work. T26E4 Super Pershing Is a great purchase. For beginners, the device will seem like a pile of useless metal. The tank requires experience in the game and "straight hands", but for this it rewards a good amount of silver.

With a shell cost less than the premium German "Lion", Super Pershing is often more profitable than it. You also need to have some patience while the crew is pumping, but after that the tank will delight the owner with armor, which will make seasoned players sweat and panic newcomers, as well as a pretty good farm of silver.
