Multiple launch rocket system willow. Stronger than "Grad": Ukraine has developed a new MLRS "Verba". "Verba" automated multiple launch rocket system

Specialists of the Kharkov Design Bureau named after Morozov improved the Grad multiple launch rocket system. The novelty was named "Verba" and differs from its predecessor in greater accuracy, rate of fire and ease of control, reports liga.net.

Fire control, aiming and charging are carried out automatically from the cockpit, designed for five people. MLRS "Verba", mounted on the chassis of "KraZ", weighs about 20 tons and is capable of speeds up to 85 km / h.

Deputy Director of Design Bureau named after Morozov Yuri Volchenko noted that usually reloading MLRS after a full launch is from an hour to two, depending on the qualifications of the crew. For "Verba", a complete set of 40 missiles is reloaded within 10 minutes.

Vladimir Vakulenko, General Designer of the A. Morozov Kharkiv Design Bureau for Mechanical Engineering (KMDB), said that the Verba is preparing to fire 7 times faster than the Grad. And 4 times faster it conveys the topographic situation, which develops where it is located and in the place where you need to shoot.

Now KB them. Morozov needs another UAH 15.9 million to finalize the system. If this money comes in, the Verba MLRS can be seen among the troops in 2016.

Back in October 2016, we reported that it was the Verba multiple launch rocket system (MLRS). This combat vehicle developed by specialists of the Kharkov Design Bureau for Mechanical Engineering named after Morozov (KMDB), a leading manufacturer of military equipment in Ukraine, and the chief designer of the KMDB Gennady Grashchenkov said then that the system was 95% ready.

In 2017, the tests of the new MLRS "Verba" began, and on February 20, 2019, official information was received that, and on November 8. The new Ukrainian multiple launch rocket system will be produced by the Shepetivka Repair Plant, which is part of the Ukroboronprom state concern.

Obviously, the manufacturer was not chosen by chance, because the state enterprise Shepetovsky Repair Plant developed and tested the new BM-21UM Berest MLRS using its own circulating assets, which is also more efficient than the Soviet BM-21 Grad.

Let's remember what "Willow" is and how it differs from "Grad".

So, "Willow" is reactive system multiple launch rocket launchers based on the KrAZ-6322 vehicle and the BM-21 Grad warhead, which was developed in 2015 by the KMDB. The modernized system is equipped with a five-seat cockpit, and fire control, aiming and reloading are carried out automatically from the cockpit without direct intervention of the crew in its operation.

The ammunition load of this MLRS consists of 40 units of 122-mm rockets, which are capable of destroying targets at a distance of up to 40 km. The reloading of a complete set of 40 missiles is carried out within 10 minutes in a mechanized way. For this, Kharkiv designers have developed a transport-loading vehicle.

The mass of the new system reaches almost 20 tons, and it is capable of speeds up to 85 km / h. It is also known that the "Verba" can have an armored version with a cabin from the "Raptor" armored car and protection of the main systems of the vehicle.

Compared to the Grad, the Verba differs from its Soviet predecessor and the Russian “colleague” by its high level of automation and placement on the Russian KrAZ chassis. Compared to the Russian Ural, it is 10 km / h faster, more maneuverable, and more all-terrain.

On the Grad, part of the crew was in open seats behind the cockpit, and for the Verba, Ukrainian designers provided for an enlarged cockpit in which the entire crew could fit. Here, in the cockpit, there will be a radio station and all control units. By the way, the communication system was also changed: all information will be transmitted over digital channels in encrypted form.

The automation of the Verba has reached such a level that the crew can work in combat conditions without leaving the cockpit: they arrived, pressed several buttons in the cockpit, hit the enemy's targets and drove off. At the same time, the new platform leveling and stabilization system can significantly improve the accuracy of fire.

Compared to Grad, the Verba MLRS determines coordinates six times faster, hovers five times faster, and after firing in a matter of seconds it can change its position, which will avoid arrivals in response. The process of reloading the installation was reduced by seven times. All this ensures the high combat efficiency and mobility of the "Verba" on the battlefield.

What is important: 80% of the "Verba" complex consists of domestic components, and only the launcher remains from the old "Grad" and the mechanical fire control system is preserved, which can be used in case of emergency situations.

It remains to add that the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the front end need such a rapid-fire and accurate means of defeating the enemy, at least in order to fire to suppress the firing points of terrorists, destroying enemy Grads, which are sowing death in peaceful Ukrainian cities near the demarcation line.

Multiple launch rocket system "Verba"

"Verba" is a new-generation Ukrainian multiple launch rocket system designed to engage enemy personnel, armored targets and command posts in a combat situation.

The Ukrainian multiple launch rocket system was developed in November 2015 on the basis of the A. Morozov Kharkov Design Bureau for Mechanical Engineering (KMDB). "Verba", as conceived by the developers, is a new generation of the famous. The new Ukrainian MLRS adjusts itself to fire 7 times faster than the Grad. Also, these systems differ in the speed of transmission of the topographic situation. Vladimir Vakulenko, General Designer of the A. Morozov Kharkiv Design Bureau for Mechanical Engineering, said that Verba is 4 times faster in terms of the speed of transmission of topographic data than Grad.

Not much remains of the Grad in the new Ukrainian multiple launch rocket system. MLRS "Verba" is designed on the basis of the KrAZ chassis ("Grad" - on the basis of "Ural"), and is also equipped with a cab for 5 seats. Improvements have also been made to the process of fighting. The developers have improved fire control, aiming and charging. Now all this is carried out automatically from the cockpit, without direct intervention of operators in the work.

The MLRS is charged with weapons using an additional vehicle that docks with the launcher and reloads the Verba with a new set of ammunition.

The general director of Ukroboronprom Roman Romanov noted: “The time has come when we need to stop going to the Soviet past and start looking into the future. "Verba" is the kind of weapon that should enter the army on an industrial scale. "

To date, one prototype version of the Verba MLRS has been manufactured. The technical revision of the system still requires UAH 15.9 million. As soon as the funds arrive at the KMDB account, "Verba", according to the head of the plant, will be ready for field trials and presentation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine within 7 months.

Military parades in all countries are an element of political propaganda in order to instill confidence in their citizens in the military power of the state. And to intimidate potential and existing opponents. During all the years of the conflict in Donbass, Ukraine also held military parades for Independence Day on August 24, and this year will not be an exception.

Per last year the Ukrainian army was replenished with new models of missile and artillery weapons developed by the Ukrainian military-industrial complex. And some of them can be seen at the military parade on August 24, said military expert Sergei Zgurets.

Among them is the operational-tactical complex "Sapsan" high precision system multiple launch rocket "Alder", automated rocket system multiple launch rocket "Verba", a new self-propelled 155-mm howitzer "Bogdana" and a number of other novelties.

Operational-tactical complex "Sapsan"

OTRK "Sapsan" is a project of the Ukrainian multifunctional missile complex, in which it is supposed to use operational-tactical, anti-aircraft and anti-ship missiles as means of destruction. Developed by the Yuzhnoye design bureau together with the Yuzhmash plant. The approximate range of the missile is from 50 to 480 km.

The Sapsan project is a unique solution for the creation of a universal rocket. The developers of Yuzhmash initially decided to proceed from the concept according to which one missile would be used to destroy different types of targets - ground, air and sea.

Thus, having created one missile and equipping it with different warheads and guidance systems, Ukraine simultaneously receives a new means air defense, coast guard and long-range operational-tactical complex.

Of all three components, the most public is the option for destroying ground targets. It is also frequently featured as the Thunder complex and was shown at the recent Arms and Security exhibition in Kiev.

High-precision multiple launch rocket system "Alder"

This system was created on the basis of the Soviet multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) "Smerch". The missile is unique in that one of its salvoes is 12 high-precision hits with an accuracy of several meters in a conventional circle with a radius of 1 km at a distance of up to 70 km. A package of 12 missiles is launched in 48 seconds, while in a salvo, each missile is aimed at its individual target.

The rocket flight is controlled by a microprocessor, which processes signals from various sensors and generates a control signal. Guidance - inertial, with the ability to correct the trajectory in flight using GPS and Glonass signals.

The rocket weighs about 800 kilograms, the control system - 50, the propulsion part - about 500 kg. The warhead is unified, and high-explosive fragmentation, cluster or thermobaric charges weighing up to 250 kg can be installed. Depending on the tasks, it can be used to defeat both ground and surface targets.

The first serial jet systems will enter the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the end of 2018. All components are Ukrainian.

"Verba" automated multiple launch rocket system

The new "Verba" multiple launch rocket system is a new generation of the "Grad" multiple launch rocket system. The upgraded system is located on the KrAZ chassis and is equipped with a five-seat cab. Fire control, aiming and even charging in new version is carried out automatically from the cockpit, without the direct intervention of soldiers in its work. The mass of the new multiple launch rocket system reaches almost 20 tons, while it is capable of speeds up to 85 km / h.

"Verba" prepares for shooting 7 times faster than "Grad", and 4 times faster conveys the topographic situation, which develops where it is and where it is necessary to shoot. The firing range is 40 kilometers.

Self-propelled 155-mm howitzer "Bogdan"

New self-propelled gun mount caliber 155 mm according to NATO standards. "Bogdana" is a synthesis of the chassis of the Ukrainian T-84U "Oplot" tank and the tower from the Polish self-propelled gun "Krab". It has a fire control system (TOPAZ) and a FONET communication system developed and manufactured by WB Electronics.

The shells of the new Ukrainian artillery will be able to fly further and have more destructive power than the 152-mm and 122-mm Russian-made artillery systems. The firing range is up to 30 km.

Through the use of a 155-mm projectile, the Ukrainian army will have access to the entire arsenal of NATO countries' smart ammunition. Including the XM982 Excalibur, which showed high efficiency during the war in Iraq.

Expert opinion

Igor Romanenko, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine:

And Ukraine needs them even more in the current situation. First, as an element of information confrontation in hybrid war with Russia. Secondly, to strengthen confidence in our people in the country's military power.

Among other things, such parades have a deterrent effect on the enemy. Show new military equipment indicates that it does not exist only on paper. And that the cost of aggression can go up dramatically for some.
